When you're 105!
What will you remember on your 105th birthday?
When Phyllis Stephens, one of the UK’s oldest residents, celebrated her 105th birthday this week, this was her list:
In 1901, the year she was born, Queen Victoria died at the age of 81, Theodore Roosevelt became President of the United States, the Royal Navy launched its first submarine and Guglielmo Marconi received the first trans-Atlantic radio signal in Newfoundland, Canada.
And in 1929 her family donated the cricket field to the village of Corbridge.
Although she now has to use a walking stick, Mrs Stephens is said to be as lively as she was back then!
